About Us
It all started with frustration.
I wanted geometric dangle earrings that were lightweight, cute, nickel-free, and at a reasonable price. I sought and sought and sought, but did not find.
I shared this with a friend, and she suggested I make my own, and introduced me to polymer clay.
It's interesting stuff. It comes in different colors, and you have to "condition" it in order to work it into something usable.
You do this by running it through an old fashioned pasta machine... several dozen times, until it becomes nice and pliable.
And that's when the fun begins. Because once it's in that state, we have what I think of as solid flow - and it's really cool.
Shortly after I started playing around with it, I introduced my dad to polymer clay.
Then I went out of town for a summer job, and he went... to town.
He's actually really creative. Some of the color combos he comes up with are (in my humble opinion) incredible, and he came up with the Classic Twisty shape, along with multiple variations.
Once we have it conditioned, we cut it up and mix colors, often running *those* through the pasta machine, too, and they act like taffy, but in slow motion.
That gets us what we call a "sheet," which we then cut into shapes.
But we don't do cookie cutter. No.
We use those shapes to create other shapes.
Strips turn into twisties, of one variation or another. Triangles are manipulated to create more choices. We chop up circles and roll them. Every piece is its own, unique work of art.
Once we finalize the shape, we bake it in the oven, and voila! It's nearly ready to go.
We put them on 925 Sterling Silver Wires, because with my nickel allergy, these are the only ones I've found that don't ever give me issues. They also weigh almost nothing - I regularly wear them all day every day, and often forget they're still in, because they don't have much to say to gravity.
So what started with frustration actually turned into something beautiful, AND they check off all the boxes.
See for yourself!
